The army cadet force is one is among the oldest youth movements in the world, going all the way back to 1860.
Today, the numbers have significantly grown to about 131,000 young men and women who are guided by 25,000 professional volunteers in more than 2,500 locations across the nation.
This movement is comprised of the Army Cadet Force, The Sea Cadet Force, the Air Training Corps and the Combined Cadet Force, which are governed at a community level.
Though this charitable organization is sponsored by the armed services, it should be noted that it is not part of the Armed Forces. The members of the Cadet Force are 100 percent voluntary and are not legally required to answer to call ups.
The greatest advantage of joining the Army Cadet Force is that you get to learn basic defense. It empowers the community through collaboration with the Armed Services.
Apart from the trained cadets, all adults are encouraged to volunteer in working towards attaining recognized qualifications that can be acquired through the Cadet Vocational Qualification and Organization.
The best part is that you do not need to pay a single cent to attain these qualifications. At the same time you get to learn lifelong skills that will help you empower other people in your society.
The Army Cadet Force is a noble movement. It aims to help you become a better person in the sense that you learn how to care more for the community and environment you live in.
